The Pond Collections listed below are suitable to establish native wildlife ponds of different sizes with marginal shelves. They are only available between approximately late March and October, (dependent on water temperatures at the beginning and end of the growing season). The collections will consist of plants suitable for that specific size pond and will include appropriate quantities of native plants from the following categories: lily (only suitable for the medium and large ponds), deep water plants, oxygenators, marginals and floating plants (mid-season only). The plants may be bare root, plug or in bunches depending on availability. The numbers below are an indication of what will be included in your collection, but our final choice of plants will be based on the best plants available at the time of your order.

Please note that most native marginal & open water pond plants will die back over the winter
apart from a very few which are evergreen. This process starts during September/October depending on the water temperature. Floating plants (eg Water Soldier, Frogbit & Hornwort) will die back and sink to the bottom of the pond where the buds will lie dormant until the weather starts to warm up in late spring. Don’t remove any of the dead or dying material (or clean the bottom of your pond) during this period!
Late spring/early summer is usually considered the best time to establish marginal and deep water plants when the temperature is rising - they will establish more quickly and successfully then.
