Medium native perennial with mauve-blue flowers over an inch across from June to July. Prefers damp, semi-shade.
Distribution: The northern counterpart of the Meadow Cranesbill. Widespread and locally common in open woods and grassy and heathery places, but rare in southernEngland,WalesandIreland.
Habitat: Open woods, grassland and heathery places in damp, semi-shady situations.
Description: Native perennial of medium height (up to 60cm) with bright mauve flowers from April to July.
