Habitat: It is a chalk downland plant, but will flourish in any sunny site.
Description: Native perennial of medium height (up to 30cm) with clusters of deep purple bell-shaped flowers from May to October. It has long been cultivated as a garden plant when it may reach heights of 50cm or more. On dry chalky soils it will stay smaller and the flowers will appear brighter and larger.
Our plants and seeds are of native British origin.
